Lina Magull joins Inter Milan

Lina Magull is leaving FC Bayern at her own request in the winter break and joining Inter Milan in Italy. Bayern honoured the 29-year-old's transfer request and terminated her contract. Magull: “FC Bayern will always remain in my heart”

Magull presented the Bundesliga trophies on the town hall balcony together with Manuel Neuer.

Magull bid farewell to the club, team and fans with words of thanks: “As a child I had wanted to play for FC Bayern, and I’m very proud and grateful to have achieved this. Many moments will stay with me forever, especially the one where we won the Bundesliga for the first time. I had tears of joy in my eyes for the first time in my life. However, it was the people who made the biggest impression on me during this time - the close team spirit and the feeling of what you can achieve together. I’m also proud of how everything has developed in women's football and at FC Bayern, and how many loyal supporters we were able to gain over during my time in Munich. I’m very grateful for the time, and it’s difficult to say goodbye. I wish the team all the best, much success, and that they can enjoy every day being able to do the best job at such a great club. FC Bayern will always remain in my heart.”

Rech: “Lina has inspired so many young girls and boys”

Bianca Rech, head of women's football, thanked Magull on behalf of FC Bayern: “We would like to thank Lina Magull for everything she has done for Bayern Munich on and off the pitch. She is an authentic person who has shaped the face of women's football, including the upswing in recent years. Lina has always left her heart on the pitch and has been a lasting inspiration to many young girls and boys. And she has also spoken out critically and thoughtfully outside of this. With characters like her, you end up initiating thought processes and change. We remain connected to Lina and wish her all the best for the future.”

The Germany international made 159 competitive appearances for Bayern, scoring 40 goals. Magull often impressed with her free-kick ability. She has also become a mainstay of the national team during her time in Munich, now earning 75 caps and being part of the squad that finished runners-up at the 2022 European Championships in England.
