"FC Bayern is home to me," said Lohmann. "I feel very attached to the club, it was an emotional decision. I've made a lot of friendships here, my family aren't far from Munich and I knew I wanted to continue to be a part here."

Bianca Rech, head of women's football at FC Bayern, is pleased about the continued collaboration: "Sydney's contract extension is hugely signifcant for us. Here's to more years together: Technical director Francisco De Sá Fardilha, Sydney Lohmann, head coach Alexander Straus and head of department Bianca Rech.

Lohmann's efforts in the Champions League quarter-final against Paris Saint-Germain in the 2021/22 season are particularly memorable. The midfielder is renowned for her presence in crucial games, as head coach Alexander Straus also knows. "She usually shows her best performances in important games," he described. "She wins a lot of balls and is just as quick on the ball as without it. Sydney had a number of other options but she loves the club, the city and the team. There's a deep, mutual trust between her and FC Bayern, and we're pleased to be continuing our work together over the next two years."

Sydney Lohmann has won the Bundesliga title with FC Bayern Women

Sydney Lohmann won the Bundesliga title with FC Bayern Women in 2021 and 2023.

From SV Lengenfeld via VfL Kaufering and SC Fürstenfeldbruck, Lohmann's path took her to Bayern at the age of 16. She was 20 when she scored Bayern Women's 100th Bundesliga goal in a match against Essen. That was folllowed by the league titles in 2021 and 2023. Success is possible again this season in the league and DFB Cup. "Two trophies is still our aim this season," she said. "I think we can achieve that with our team. I bring a lot of dynamism and energy, which I want to use to help the team and contribute to success."

Lohmann personally announced her extension to fans after the home game against RB Leipzig:
