Title defence, joint celebrations at Munich City Hall and a crucial contract extension: FC Bayern Women head coach Alexander Straus has signed a new contract to remain in charge of the team until 30 June 2026. The Norwegian took up the role in summer 2022 and led the team to the Bundesliga title in his first season. Straus and his squad then defended their crown with two games to spare this year.

We are on a very good path but we still have a lot of potential, and I want to be a part of realising this potential. FC Bayern and I are a good match. The next few years will be exciting. We want to defend our league title again and also make our mark in the Champions League. To achieve this, we must and will work hard every day.”
Since taking charge of the Munich ladies, the 48-year-old has won 53 of his 69 competitive fixtures, while his record in the Bundesliga is just one loss from 44 games. Straus' Bayern are currently on a run of 39 league fixtures without defeat.
