Reaction to the match against Wolfsburg
Herbert Hainer, president of FC Bayern: "Congratulations to VfL Wolfsburg on a well-deserved 10th successive cup win. Unfortunately we fell a few metres short of the first double in the history of FC Bayern Women. Nevertheless we're proud of this team, who just a few days ago defended the Bundesliga title. It won't be the last final that FC Bayern Women get to."
Alexander Straus: "Wolfsburg deserved to take the lead in the first half. In a match like this, you have to be there in every moment and in every challenge, which we weren't today. We reacted too much and acted too little. Wolfsburg are a very good team and deserved to win today. Congratulations on that."
Glódís Perla Viggósdóttir: "It wasn't enough from us today. Particularly in the first half, we allowed Wolfsburg to get into the game too much and then it's very hard to come back from two goals. We just didn't want it enough today. Wolfsburg showed that more, you have to give it to them."
Klara Bühl: "It's obviously a massive disappointment. It wasn't what we hoped. We were asleep in the first half and didn't get into our rhythm, were always a step too late and couldn't win the challenges. If you don't manage to do that, you're going to fail here. We never really got into the game, Wolfsburg did well tactically. We have to get to the bottom of how we do better next time. We were lacking a bit of aggression – the emotion was there. When you concede two goals, it just gets hard with every minute. Wolfsburg were sharper than us. We had to chase the ball a lot, which used a lot of energy."
Mala Grohs: "We got into the game well but then lost our way a bit. VfL did a few little things differently than in the league games, but we adjusted to that fairly quickly. Wolfsburg rely a lot on quick transitions, which we didn't manage to cut out. VfL were very present and aggressive on the pitch. We needed to do that better."
