FC Bayern Women sign Julia Zigiotti Olme

FC Bayern Women have completed the signing of Julia Zigiotti Olme. The 26-year-old moves to Munich from English Women's Super League side Brighton & Hove Albion on a contract until 30 June 2026. The Swedish international will wear number 16 for the German champions.

'Great quality on the ball'

Francisco De Sá Fardilha, FC Bayern Women technical director: "Julia is a player who impresses with her versatility, defensive strength and great quality on the ball. She's been playing in one of the strongest leagues in the world in the last few years and has also played 32 games for the Swedish national team. She's an extremely ambitious player and we're sure that she's ready for the next step in her career. We look forward to working with her."

Julia Zigiotti Olme: "Signing for FC Bayern is a dream come true for me. Since decades, the club is one of the biggest and most historic clubs in the world. A lot of players have told me that FC Bayern is like a big family. I want to help the team continue to write its success story in the future, win trophies and get as far as possible in the Champions League," said the 26-year-old, adding: "My aim is to support the team with my strengths, which lie primarily in the defensive work. I always give 100 percent on the pitch and work to get better every day. I'm really excited about becoming part of the FC Bayern family."

Ample experience on international stage

Zigiotti Olme, born on 24 December 1997, joined English top-flight club Brighton & Hove Albion in January 2022. Before that, the Upplands Väsby-born midfielder spent three seasons with BK Häcken, where she celebrated one Swedish championship as well as two cup wins. Zigiotti Olme made her debut for Sweden in 2018 and has since represented her country 32 times. She was part of the side that finished third at the 2019 World Cup.
