Jovi is staying in Munich! Serbia international Jovana Damnjanović has extended her contract at FC Bayern for a fourth time, signing a new deal that will keep her at the club until 30 June 2027.
Damnjanović has worn the Bayern shirt since 2017 – only team-mate Sydney Lohmann has been with the German champions longer. In her seven years in the Bavarian state capital, the 29-year-old has scored 55 goals in 139 appearances in all competitions. Last season, the forward played a significant role in the Bundesliga title with eight goals in 21 games, including a memorable strike from the halfway line in the 3-0 win over Werder Bremen.
Damnjanović: No other club I'd rather play for
For Damnjanović, it was an easy decision: "I'm very happy to have extended my contract and I'm really looking forward to the next period, in which we still have lots that we want to achieve. I love the city of Munich and the club. For me there's no other club I'd rather play for."
That appreciation is mutual. Bianca Rech, director of FC Bayern Women, also had no doubts about continuing to work with the Serbia international: "Jovi just fits perfectly at FC Bayern and personifies everything that's important to us as a club. She had an incredibly good season last year and is extremely important for the team on and off the pitch, because she always confidently expresses a clear opinion within the team. Her commitment and her ability to inspire the team make her a special player."
Damnjanović, who joined Bayern from SC Sand in summer 2017, has won three Bundesliga titles (2021, 2023, 2024) with the Munich girls to date and been in two DFB Cup finals (2018, 2024).
