In April, the DFB's Sepp Herberger Foundation honoured the women's players of FC Bayern Munich for their social commitment. FC Bayern Women have now donated part of the prize money to the prisoner welfare organisation in the Aichach district. The reason for the award: at the beginning of the year, the team led by captain Glódís Viggósdóttir visited the Aichach prison and spoke to the inmates. FC Bayern Women's director Bianca Rech handed over the cheque for 3,000 euros to the chief executive of the Prisoners' Welfare Association, Stefan Schrempel.

The visit to the prison in January clearly left a lasting impression on the players, who became aware of their privileges and still haven't forgotten the inmates who they met. They got to know and understand the people and their stories. Now, with the donation of the prize money, they want to give something back.
