Second season of FC Bayern Women documentary ‘More than 90 Minutes presented by Allianz’

In cooperation with Allianz, the main partner of FC Bayern Women, FC Bayern released More than 90 Minutes presented by Allianz in September 2024, the first in-depth documentary about the club’s women's team. Season 2 now follows, covering the current season of captain Glódís Viggósdóttir, Giulia Gwinn, Mala Grohs and their teammates. A new episode with current stories and topics will be published every month. The first episode will premiere on Monday, 10 March at 4pm CET on fcbayern.com and FC Bayern's YouTube channel.

With almost eight million video impressions across all platforms and over 650,000 interactions, season 1 was a complete success. The wide-reaching format received an enormous amount of attention, as well as consistently positive, high-quality feedback and thus became a media milestone for women's football, even beyond FC Bayern.

Bianca Rech, FC Bayern Women director: “We’re delighted to be able to produce a second season together with Allianz after such a successful first. And this time the viewers are even more up-to-date and closer to our team. Not least because the team actively contributed their feedback from season 1 to the concept for season 2.”

Stefan Mennerich, FC Bayern director of media & communications: “With our documentary formats, which we have been producing ourselves for several years now, we give our fans an in-depth and unbiased look behind the scenes at FC Bayern. The viewing figures that we achieve on various platforms show that we are on the right track with this content. The second season of our women's documentary is another example of the great work that our club media and content department, headed by Nikolai Kube, is doing here. I would like to say a big thank you for that.”

Daniela Bauer, Allianz SE global head of partnerships: “We are delighted to continue the successful documentary More than 90 Minutes together with FC Bayern Women and to be able to share the many exciting insights behind the scenes with an even wider and international audience.”

In episode 1 of the new season, viewers accompany the women to their winter training camp in Seville, Spain. The focus is on the hard work that the Bayern players put in every day to be able to compete at the highest level. Goalkeeper Grohs also spoke there for the first time about her feelings and her return to the pitch following her tumour diagnosis. Back in Munich, Jovana Damnjanović is accompanied at the opening of her own café. Her first guests included almost the entire FC Bayern Women's team.

The documentary is being produced by FC Bayern's club media team with the support of director and producer Marco Gundel.

Allianz has accompanied the success story of FC Bayern Women as a main partner since 2013 and is therefore not only an important part of the Bayern family.

In addition to the partnership, Allianz also supports FC Bayern Women in the ‘EmpowerHer’ mentoring programme and generally as a reliable partner for off-the-pitch matter with its expertise in pensions, insurance and financial planning.
