A total of 17 FC Bayern Women players were in action for eight different countries in the UEFA Nations League in April. fcbayern.com rounds up how they got on across Matchdays 3 and 4 of the group stage.
Two Germany wins, Kett debut
Germany’s squad included Giulia Gwinn, Franziska Kett, Klara Bühl, Linda Dallmann, Sydney Lohmann, Lea Schüller and Alara Şehitler as they chalked up two big wins over Scotland.
Christian Wück ’s side first claimed a 4-0 victory, with Gwinn providing the assist for the early opener. After a Scotland own goal, Dallmann added the third before Schüller rounded things off with the fourth. There was also a senior international debut for 20-year-old Kett on the left wing.
Tuesday’s return fixture saw Germany trailing 1-0 at the break before a huge second-half turnaround with six goals in the space of 26 minutes. Two of them involved Bayern players, with Gwinn providing the corner for the equaliser and Lohmann setting up the third.

Title for Mahmutovic
Germany’s U23s also had a good week as they beat Norway on penalties in the final of the European League. Bayern goalkeeper Ena Mahmutovic had played in the semi-final against the Netherlands, keeping a clean sheet in the 3-0 win.

Sweden and Denmark against Italy and Wales
The Swedish trio of Magdalena Eriksson, Linda Sembrant and Julia Zigiotti Olme, as well as Denmark’s Pernille Harder, all faced Bayern teammate Arianna Caruso’s Italy. The Swedes manged a 3-2 win, while Caruso scored the opening goal in Italy’s 3-0 victory over Harder’s side.
The Scandinavians both also faced Wales in this break. Sweden were held to a 1-1 draw after Eriksson had put them ahead. Denmark beat them 2-1, with Harder setting up the opening goal.

Zawistowska nets twice for Poland
Weronika Zawistowska was in action for Poland and got on the scoresheet in a big 5-1 win over Bosnia and Herzegovina with a penalty. Things were much closer in the return fixture, with Bosnia leading 1-0 until added time, when Zawistowska grabbed the equaliser for Poland.

Wins for Damnjanović, Hansen and Zadrazil come up short
Serbia’s Jovana Damnjanović also had a good international break with 1-0 and 3-0 wins over Hungary and Belarus respectively. There was less to write home about for Tuva Hansen and Sarah Zadrazil. Norway played out a goalless draw with Iceland before a 2-0 loss to France. Zadrazil played in both of Austria’s games against the Netherlands, which both ended in 3-1 defeats.
