Arduous tests
Under the auspices of athletics coach Hamid Masoum Beygi, the players completed endurance, jumping power and speed tests in small groups. They were also put through their paces on treadmills. Their endurance ability was checked in a lactate test and speed was checked on the speed court before balance exercises rounded off the comprehensive diagnostics.
The atmosphere was very good despite the energy-sapping sessions. The players were visibly looking forward to getting going again. “I was very pleased to see a few girls but also some new faces, many are still in action at the Euro. We’re really looking forward to the new season, you can see that in the whole team, even though it’s still some time until the first competitive match. We’ll prepare intensely in the next few weeks, our goals are ambitious. I’m looking forward to the end of August, when the Supercup starts,” said Caro Simon.

Defender Kathi Naschenweng too was happy: “After the long rehab last year, I’m really looking forward to pre-season. The break has certainly helped us, but now we’re really looking forward to preparing for the new season together. In the next few weeks it’ll be about getting to know each other as a team as best we can.”
Barcala: I’m really looking forward to the first few training sessions
New head coach José Barcala too was very motivated: “I’m really looking foward to the new season and the first few training sessions with the team,” said the Spaniard ahead of his first season at Bayern. “My first three days here were very nice – the atmosphere at the club and in the team is very familial and warm.” An intense phase awaits Lena Oberdorf, Jovana Damnjanović & Co. in the next few weeks. “We’ll start with the basics before working on our tactics and idea step by step,” said Barcala.
FCB Women contest their first friendly against FC Zürich on 15 August before setting off for Austria for their training camp from 17 to 21 August. On 21 August they will conclude their training camp with a friendly against Real Madrid at the FC Bayern Campus. Two internal friendlies will be staged behind closed doors on 25 July and 26 August.
Supercup & Bundesliga opener at the Allianz Arena

Munich will conclude pre-season with two highlights. FC Bayern take on VfL Wolfsburg in Karlsruhe in the Supercup, and they want to claim the first title of the new season against the Bundesliga runners-up from Lower Saxony, as they did last year.
One week later they face Bayer Leverkusen in the Google Pixel Women’s Bundesliga at the Allianz Arena on Saturday 6 September at 17:45 CEST.
