FC Bayern Women players called up for national teams

The first international break since the summer’s Euros in Switzerland is coming up in October. Find out which FC Bayern Women players have been called up for their country and where they’ll be playing this month.

Germany in Nations League semis

Germany’s objective this month is to reach the final of the UEFA Women’s Nations League, with Christian Wück calling up six Bayern players for the two-legged semi-final tie against France in Giulia Gwinn, Franziska Kett, Klara Bühl, Lea Schüller, Linda Dallmann and Alara Şehitler. The latter was brought into the squad after the withdrawal of Wolfsburg’s Sarai Linder. Lena Oberdorf had also been named in the squad but is no longer available after her cruciate ligament injury, with Dallmann taking her place. Goalkeeper Ena Mahmutovic has had to withdraw as well after her ankle injury.

Mala Grohs has been named on standby and will at first join up with the U23s for their games against England and Sweden. The first leg of the semi-final is in Düsseldorf on 24 October (17:45 CEST), with the return fixture in Caen four days later (21:10 CET).

Stine Ballisager and Pernille Harder are in Denmark’s squad for their Nations League play-offs. The same goes for Glódís Viggósdóttir with Iceland and the Austrian duo of Maria Plattner and Katharina Naschenweng. It’s a return to the international fold for the latter as Austria face Czechia trying to stay in League A. Barbara Dunst will help the squad by taking part in training.

Magdalena Eriksson was set to feature for Sweden in the other semi-final against Spain but will now remain in Munich as a precaution following a head injury. Tuva Hansen was also named in Norway’s squad but is also sidelined with an ankle injury.
