Sarah Ernst joins Werder Bremen

Sarah Ernst has left FC Bayern Women’s reserve team after six-and-a-half years to join Werder Bremen in the Bundesliga. The 21-year-old first arrived in Munich at U17 level from TSV Wittenau in 2019. Her debut for the second team came in 2021, soon establishing herself in the side and making 103 appearances in Bundesliga 2, scoring 23 goals.

Bischof: “Excited Sarah can take the next step”

Nathalie Bischof, Bayern’s coordinator for youth development, thanked Ernst for her commitment to the club. “Sarah came through the youth teams at Bayern and progressed step by step over many years. She was part of the first team’s training group many times, took part in training camps and took every opportunity to learn and take on responsibility. With her technical ability, game intelligence and good left foot, she provides strength in attack. We’d like to thank her for her commitment, identification with the club and her time with us at Bayern. We’re excited that she can now take the next step in her career and prove herself in the Bundesliga.”
