FCB Women's quarter-final second leg at the Allianz Arena to be played on 1 April

Mark it in your diary: FC Bayern Women will play their Champions League quarter-final second leg at the Allianz Arena at 18:45 CET on Wednesday, 1 April - and thus in the middle of the first week of the Easter holidays. Their opponents will be the winners of the play-off between Manchester United and Atlético Madrid. The date of the first leg will be announced after the play-offs have been played.

It will be the Munich women's third major appearance in front of a large crowd this season - after the Bundesliga opener in front of over 57,000 spectators, which set a new record in German women's club football, and the spectacular 3-2 win against last season's Champions League winners Arsenal. The impressive crowd and the energy from the stands will hopefully now inspire head coach José Barcala's team to take the next step towards the semi-finals.

Bühl: "We’ll need the support of every single fan"

Klara Bühl is looking forward to the clash at the beginning of April with great anticipation: "It's sure to be magnificent! We're already really looking forward to 1 April and our third game of the season at the Allianz Arena. We'll need the support of every single fan in the stands as we battle for a place in the Champions League semi-finals. After Leverkusen and Arsenal, we want to get our third win in the third game at the Allianz Arena and it'll definitely be a cracker against Manchester United or Atletíco Madrid."

Possible quarter-final opponents: excitement ahead of the decider in February

Anticipation is growing as to which of the two potential opponents will be coming to Munich. Manchester United and Atlético Madrid meet on 12 and 19 February to decide who will play FCB in the quarter-finals. Both options hold the promise of a clash of equals, whether against a physically strong United or Atlético, who showed great fighting spirit to force a late 2-2 draw against Bayern in the league phase.
