The opponents: Manchester United
Manchester United sailed through the play-offs with a 3-0 away win and a 2-0 at home against Atlético Madrid - a remarkable achievement on what is their first ever appearance in the Europe's premier club competition for women's football. Prior to that, United beat Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain, among others, in the league phase. The Red Devils are currently second in the domestic league, eight points behind rivals Manchester City and former Bayern player Sydney Lohmann. They've been improving steadily: Third place last season, fifth before that. The tie will see a special reunion: Striker Lea Schüller joined the English side in the winter, while Julia Zigiotti has been turning out for the Reds since last summer. Former Bayern player Fridolina Rölfö also plays for the venerable old club from Manchester.
Fond memories of previous encounters

The Bayern women have fond memories of their most recent clashes with Manchester United: they beat them 2-1 in the final of the World Sevens Football 2024 in Portugal, a year earlier they won 3-2 in a friendly, and in the final of the Amos Women's French Cup in 2022 they won 3-0. Three games, three wins, but now we start from scratch again.
The first leg will take place at the famed Old Trafford Stadium at the end of March (25 March, 21:00 CET), followed by what will be a huge second leg at the Allianz Arena on 1 April. Two nights, two stages where atmosphere and precision will count. Get your tickets now and support our team on their mission to reach the semi-finals!
