A night on the big stage

Having opened the Bundesliga season against Bayer Leverkusen in front of a German record crowd of 57,762 and then the thrilling 3-2 win over Champions League holders Arsenal in the league phase, Bayern’s women now get to take to the Allianz Arena stage for the third time in 2025/26. Giulia Gwinn, Pernille Harder and the rest of the squad can’t wait for the fixture as they look to advance to the Champions League semi-finals with the backing of a big crowd.

Opponent: Manchester United

United eliminated Atlético Madrid in the play-offs, winning 3-0 in Spain and then 2-0 back at home to reach the quarter-finals on their first-ever appearance in the Champions League. The Red Devils beat the likes of Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain in the league phase, while they currently sit second in the domestic Women’s Super League, eight points behind local rivals Manchester City.

This tie will also see a special reunion for Lea Schüller, who moved to Manchester at the start of the year, as well as Julia Zigiotti after her summer transfer. Fridolina Rolfö and Leah Galton are two more former Bayern players in the United ranks.
