As part of their trip to Japan, FC Bayern players Pernille Harder, Momoko Tanikawa, and Ena Mahmutovic, along with representatives from Hitachi Energy, visited the site where Hitachi was founded. There, it became vividly clear how a small workshop grew into a world-leading technology company. This evolution is impressively documented at the Odaira Memorial Museum and in the reconstructed first workshop, where the first Hitachi electric motor was built in 1910.
Around 50 young footballers of primary school age gave the three players an enthusiastic welcome. With impressive ease, they made the ball dance across the tips of their toes, keeping it up and demonstrating their extraordinary ball control to the delight of the children. During the subsequent Q&A session, the young players wanted to know how top athletes deal with defeat, what keeps them motivated every day and how they maintain their ambition despite great success. Harder responded with a sentence that was as simple as it was powerful: “Keep working on yourself.”
What made this afternoon so special were the encounters, the conversations and the openness to new experiences. It is precisely moments like these that give a partnership its special value. Arigatō gozaimasu – thank you very much for a day full of inspiration, warm encounters and shared memories.
