Performance diagnostics at FC Bayern Campus
Full of energy for the 2026/27 season: FCB Women take up pre-season
The action finally begins! Exactly eight weeks after the last match of the season at Hamburg’s Volksparkstadion, FC Bayern Women have resumed training and taken up preparations for the new season. The double winners underwent the obligatory performance diagnostics and various medical examinations at the FC Bayern Campus. fcbayern.com gives you an overview of pre-season.
Performance diagnostics to kick things off

Captain Glódís Viggósdóttir’s team kicked off preparations for the 2026/27 season well-rested and in high spirits. New signings Sophie Proost, Kassandra Potsi, Sarah Mattner and Regina van Eijk met their new teammates for the first time. The players completed various stations – including tests to measure endurance, jumping power and mobility – in small groups under the auspices of the fitness coaches. Head coach José Barcala’s team were also put through their paces on the treadmill to assess their fitness using lactate tests.
Despite the demanding tests, FCB Women were in high spirits as usual. They’ll work with the ball on the pitch on Monday, when Barcala will take charge for the first regular training session.

Damnjanović: ‘I’m glad preparations for the new season can begin’
The anticipation for the big reunion was enormous – also for Jovana Damnjanović, the longest-serving Munich player: “We’ve all been really looking forward to this day. We’ve had a few weeks off and I really missed going to the Campus and working together. I’m really glad to see everyone again. I hope everyone’s recovered well, and we’re all glad we can get started and begin pre-season.”
FCB Women head to Japan on the ‘Allianz Women's Tour' from 21 to 27 July. They take on RB Omiya Ardija in the first friendly on 25 July at 10:00 CEST. They encounter 1. FC Nürnberg in a friendly at Stauferpark Donauwörth on 1 August at 17:00. The dress rehearsal for the new season will be the high-profile friendly against Paris FC at Sportpark Unterhaching on 9 August at 16:00 (tickets!).
Supercup & Bundesliga opener

After an intense pre-season, FC Bayern Women take on VfL Wolfsburg (tickets!) in the Google Pixel Supercup on 15 August at 19:30, when Munich aim to claim the first silverware of the season – as in the last two seasons – at Ingolstadt’s Audi Sportpark.
The Google Pixel Women’s Bundesliga opener will be staged just one week later: Munich travel to face Union Berlin at the Alte Försterei on 21 August at 18:20. The full fixture list will be announced on 16 July.
