During a visit to the Centre for Paediatrics and Adolescent Medicine – a joint venture between München Klinik and TUM Klinikum – children spent an afternoon full of special moments last Monday in the company of FC Bayern Women’s Anna Klink, Franziska Kett, Linda Dallmann, Sarah Mattner and Giulia Gwinn.
Football, fun and friendship

Germany’s double winners provided plenty of wonderful moments away from the daily routine of hospital life and brought smiles to the faces of the young patients. During mini football challenges, the children battling cancer were able to test their skills and get active alongside the players. It wasn’t about goals or results, but about the joy of taking part and spending time together. Amidst the sporting activities, there was also plenty of time for autographs, photos and personal chats with the children as well as their parents. These brief encounters turned into special moments, accompanied by lots of smiling faces.

Thoughts were also given to the children who were unable to leave their wards, as the players and mascot Mia visited them in their rooms and presented them with gifts. This meant that these children, too, were able to meet the FC Bayern Women’s team in person and take part in this special afternoon. The players’ visit gave the young patients and their families a welcome break from the daily routine of hospital life. A heartfelt thank you goes to the sports team at the hospital for their thoughtful organisation, and to the children and their families for their warm and open-hearted welcome.
The Centre for Paediatric and Adolescent Medicine offers a special sports programme on the paediatric oncology ward and at the day clinic. It is designed to help children and young people stay motivated and physically active even whilst undergoing treatment. Visits like this are a valuable addition and create unforgettable moments.
