FCB Women celebrate clear-cut win

FC Bayern Women beat Slavia Prague 7-0 to win their third pre-season friendly. 1,500 spectators saw head coach Alex Straus' team beat the Czech side in Ruderting. Jovana Damnjanović set FCB on their way with two early goals, Linda Dallmann making it three after 20 minutes. Alara Şehitler bagged a hat-trick in the second half, with Franziska Kett rounding off the final scoreline.

Three changes

Head coach Alex Straus made three changes to the XI that saw off Ingolstadt on Wednesday. Captain Glodis Viggósdóttir, Sarah Zadrazil and Jovana Damnjanović replaced Linda Sembrant, Julia Zigiotti and Alara Şehitler.

Early lead

FC Bayern Women were dominant from the off and took an early lead when Linda Dallmann intercepted a pass and invited Damnjanović to score. Pernille Harder soon found Damnjanović, who doubled the advantage. Ten minutes later Harder set up Dallmann, who found the net.

Four goals in the second half

The pattern was similar after half-time, but FCB Women had to wait until their first gilt-edged chance came. Dallmann saw an effort blocked after the hour mark, but Harder soon set up Alara Şehitler, who slotted home. FCB were awarded a penalty in the closing stages, Şehitler dispatching before she rounded off her hat-trick one minute later. Kett provided the final flourish in stoppage time.

Dress rehearsal against Juventus

A highlight awaits FC Bayern Women on 20 August, when they take on Juventus in their last pre-season friendly. Kick-off to the dress rehearsal at Sportpark Unterhaching is at 18:00 CEST.

FCB Women take on VfL Wolfsburg in the Supercup at Dresden's Rudolf-Harbig-Stadion on 25 August at 18:15 CEST.
