My idol and what I’d ask them
Lionel Messi because he just fascinates me with the way he plays football and shaped the best era at Barcelona, which was when he most impressed me with his style of play. I’d just like to kick about with him on the beach all day.
What I’d do if I hadn’t become a professional footballer
I’m just pleased I could fulfil my childhood dream and live it. Being a footballer is all I wanted to be. It’ll be exciting to see what comes afterwards. I’d like to stay in sports business, maybe in marketing but I’m definitely looking forward to new perspectives.
Sports I like outside of football
It’s tough to do a lot of sport away from football during the season, but in the breaks and whenever possible I like windsurfing, stand-up paddling, skiing, football throwing, beach volleyball, cycling and yoga.
My favourite place to travel
I like going to different places. I like the distraction and learning about other cultures. Tel Aviv in Israel was special because of the good food, great art, relaxed way of life and the different religions.
My favourite food
Sushi and Neapolitan pizza.
My favourite book and why I’d recommend it
“Es kann nur eine geben” by Carolin Kebekus. It’s humorously written with important messages behind it. It shows the differences between women and men that you weren’t so aware of before.
Strangest moment in football
I was tackled by a dog during a friendly match in France. Go watch it on YouTube 😉
Best memory at Bayern
The Bundesliga title with an incredibly great team.
How I calm back down after getting annoyed in a game
Nothing. The anger is there and needs to come out. Talk about it, let go and be better again next time.
Best football match
The Champions League final between Wolfsburg and Tyreso (watching injured from the stands) and the Champions League final between Bayern and Borussia Dortmund at Wembley.
My pre-match ritual
No, no exact rituals. If I forgot them, I’d probably go crazy.
European Championship runner-up 2022
Champions League 2013, 2014
Bundesliga 2013, 2014, 2021
DFB Cup 2013, 2015
