FC Bayern Basketball has agreed a long-term extension of its cooperation with premium partner and official kits sponsor adidas. The sports equipment manufacturer based in Herzogenaurach and the German Champions have renewed their contract for another five years until summer 2020. The original deal was due to expire at the end of the 2014/15 season.
This contract extension with a legendary global player in the world of sports is great news for us. adidas is one of our club’s closest partners and has supported our basketball project with a great deal of passion since our return to the Bundesliga four years ago,” said FCBB chief executive Marko Pesic after signing the deal. “On behalf of the club, I want to thank this loyal companion and their chairman Herbert Hainer for their mutual showing of trust, which is the foundation behind this five-year contract.”
adidas chairman Herbert Hainer also spoke of his delight at continuing the collaboration with FCBB: “adidas aspires to be the best sports brand in the world. As a dynamic and young team sport, basketball will make up a substantial part of our strategy over the coming years. We are proud to have agreed a long-term partnership with FC Bayern Basketball.”
The collaboration with adidas mainly comprises of the sports equipment provider having an advertising presence in Munich’s Audi Dome and being FC Bayern Basketball’s official kit provider. The jersey unveiling, which was recently done in September by Herbert Hainer at the “adidas World of Spots” in the Herzogenaurach Concert Hall, is always a pre-season highlight.
adidas AG is one of the largest sports equipment providers in the world. The company currently has around 54,000 employees across the globe.
