Two out for FCBB

Cobbs and Savanovic leave FC Bayern Basketball

The decisions about personnel at Bayern Basketball have been made, and US point guard Justin Cobbs and power forward Dusko Savanovic are leaving FCBB. Their contracts only lasted until the end of the season and they have not been renewed.

The almost 33-year-old veteran Savanovic moved to Munich in the summer of 2014, and in a total of 76 Bundesliga matches his point average was 11.2. The power forward made his last appearance in the second playoff quarter final in Ludwigsburg, despite a finger injury. After that, the Serb was no longer used in the squad. Savanovic left Munich on Monday and will play for Italian first-division side Sassari next season.

Justin Cobbs was a late call up for Bayern at the end of December, when he transferred from the Turkish first league, where he played for Istanbul BSB. In 25 BBL appearances, the 25-year-old Californian scored an average of 6.9 points and made an average of 3.1 assists, whilst in the Eurocup he made ten appearances for the quarter finalists.

“We would like to thank both players for their time in a Bayern shirt and wish them every success in the future”, said FCBB chief executive Marko Pesic on Monday.
