Together with the American Jewish Committee, FC Bayern hosted a film screening and panel discussion centered around the story of the club's most influential president, Kurt Landauer. Taking place at the Core Club in New York, the event hosted members of the sports business, public policy, Jewish-American community among others to discuss the role of both FC Bayern and the AJC in rebuilding the German-Jewish community in the aftermath of World War II as well as continuing to advance and promote human rights and democratic values.
Following the screening of the movie, a panel featuring General Consul of Germany Brita Wagener and Chair of the AJC Berlin Ramer Institute, Anthony E. Meyer spoke on the role sports teams play in promoting values within their community of fans as well as the spirit of Kurt Landauer that still flows throughout the club today.
“AJC is proud to partner with FC Bayern and the German government with the common goal of continuing to advance German-Jewish relations, standing up against anti-Semitism and all forms of extremism, and representing the best of human ideals. We look forward to future opportunities to work together," said Michael Schmidt, Director of the AJC, New York.
