Miles & More for Bayern: Germanys sole EuroLeague representative has signed American forward Miles Norris; the freshly signed contract is valid for two years, until 2028. The 26-year-old wing, who can be used in multiple ways at the three and four positions, played his first year in Europe last season with FC Barcelona and is now aiming for the next performance level with Bayern Basketball. Back home, the Californian had two strong years in the G League, averaging 17.1 points per game for the Memphis Grizzlies’ farm team, which led to a short stint in the NBA with the Boston Celtics in 2025 (three appearances).
During Barça’s highly inconsistent season, Norris also received only limited opportunities to develop as a backup, for example to Tornike Shengelia (12:22 minutes per game, 4.0 points, 2.6 rebounds), which is why he is now all the more eager for the opportunity in Munich: “We are looking for players who can still progress in their development and at the same time have the quality to substantially strengthen our team – we see this combination in Miles,” explains Bayern sporting director Thorsten Leibenath. “His athleticism will help speed up our game – and his good outside shooting will create space.”

Lots of athleticism and a good three-pointer
Norris himself reinforces this assessment: “Bayern is a big organization, a very professionally run club in the top league. I want to try to help the team win exactly at this highest level. I’ve already spoken with the coach about the club, the city, and about basketball; it was a very good conversation and everything sounds very promising. Bayern is an excellent opportunity for me to take my game to the next level in my second year in Europe and to show my abilities.” How does he want to do that specifically? “I think with my assets I can really space the floor well, with my three-point shot and the option to attack the rim athletically and finish with dunks. I want to deliver the high-energy plays for Bayern.”
The new Munich head coach Anton Gavel has already exchanged views with the wing player; he says: “We’re happy that Miles chose us. In his second year he will enter European basketball with more experience and take a step forward. Above all, with his athleticism and his shooting he will help us open up the court. He will give us offensive input and, with his versatility, also make an impact on defense.”

Norris, who already knows guard addition Duane Washington from the Bayern roster (“We used to play against each other and have already trained together”), grew up in San Diego and won several regional championships during his high school days (Mater Dei, Helix, and Brewster Academy). Oregon was his first college stop before he developed into a key player in Santa Barbara after the pandemic (2022/2023: 14.1 points per game, 39.1% from three).
Overlooked in the NBA draft, he began his pro career in the G League, first with Atlanta’s Skyhawks (11.6 points per game). In April 2024 came his first overseas stint with Turkish top-flight club Bodrum (four games). The following year, Norris virtually forced his way onto the Celtics’ radar with 36 G League games for the Memphis Hustle (alongside an average of 17 points, 5.5 rebounds, 38.6% from three), earning a call-up to Boston (three games in April 2025). It remained a brief liaison.
Three games for the Celtics
In the Spanish ACB last season, Norris at least saw around 20 minutes of playing time per game (6.8 points, 3.6 rebounds). Here too, the dynamic forward’s three-pointer fell at a very solid 37.5 percent. As part of the extensive restructuring by the Catalans after a disappointing season without EuroLeague playoffs, his time there also came to an end. Bayern were more than happy to pick Miles up.
Privately, Norris commutes between Florida and California. He is the father of a daughter.
