On track: After the EuroLeague victory over defending champion Efes (81-78), the Bayern Basketball team won their matchup against Bayreuth. After a strong second half, the 4,600 fans in the Audi Dome saw an 81-68 victory. Coach Trinchieri spread the minutes around to everyone and all twelve scored - Winston (19 points) was the top scorer again. Gillespie picked up a double-double of ten points and twelve rebounds.
With the national 5-1 record, the FCBB now heads into the German EuroLeague rivalry game on Thursday (20:00) in Berlin. MagentaSport will broadcast free for all. The next home game is at the Audi Dome is on Thursday, November 17, at 20:30 against the EuroLeague semifinalists from 2022, Olympiakos Piraeus.
Uncomfortable Bayreuth took advantage of Munich mistakes before the break (26-23/14th), but after the restart the defense as well as the shot selection improved considerably - 62-42 after a great 28-6 quarter (30th). The FCBB hit a total of 13 threes.

After a good start, we somewhat complicated our game by not having enough mental presence and concentration. I always tell my players that the good ones are able to do what it takes in any situation; no matter what the circumstances are. It's not the upcoming game against Alba that will be the most important game so far, it was the cup game - we've learned that from the last few years. Normally I'm more looking forward to Alba, but right now I just want to think from game to game and have more and more fun."
Bayreuth head coach, Lars Masell: "We had nothing to lose here. I think we performed quite well here in three quarters and you have to say quite clearly that Munich took us completely out of the game in the third quarter. And that sums up the game. It's good for us to play against such EuroLeague teams. That's our learning process that we have to continue to go through and we hope that we can continue to make steps forward there."
