After a great road victory in Berlin (85-75) and the return trip on Monday midday, the next difficult task awaits the basketball players of FC Bayern. The former serial champion from Bamberg travels to the Audi Dome for tip-off at 20:30 on Tuesday evening. While the standings leader (54-4 points) can end the regular season with a victory with nothing else to gain, the guests still need victories for as good a starting position as possible for the playoffs. Currently the Franks are in fifth place with 40-20 points.

"After Berlin, we will immediately meet another title candidate of high quality," said Bayern captain Danilo Barthel. "I hope that we can find our energy again after the difficult game and defeat them at home as well."

The guests have had a roller coaster ride after a change of coach but the cup final at home against Berlin was winnable. Furthermore, the team of former assistant and new head coach, Federico Perego, has another title chance in the final tournament of the third highest European competition, the Champions League. With a hard-fought 93-88 win against Braunschweig- a game in which Perego was suspended - Bamberg arrives with heads held high. The outstanding player in the last game was Augustine Rubit (14.8 ppg), who got 18 of his 29 points in the last five minutes of the game.

Bamberg's first offensive option, however, remains the 31-year-old former Munich player Tyrese Rice (15.7 ppg, 6.3 apg).  Ricky Hickman (11.2) and Power Forward Elias Harris (10.4), who have shown their reliability again after long injuries, also score double-digit points on average. The new Center Cliff Alexander (9.2), leader Nikos Zisis (7.3) in his possibly last BBL season as well as former Bayern professional Bryce Taylor (6.2) and national player Patrick Heckmann (5.4) finish up the roster for this quality club.
