With a lot of support from their youngest fans, the FC Bayern Basketball players are heading to the next gameday with an away game on Thursday in Ludwigsburg (11.4., 20:30). This will be followed by a home appearance this Sunday in the Audi Dome against Braunschweig (14.4., 18:30). The complete professional squad of the German champs visited the SAGs in five Munich primary schools to start the week. The players had autograph maps, good mood, some play exercises and some T-Shirts, hoodies as well as balls donated from the Munich airport.

"The afternoon nap between the two training sessions today was somewhat shorter, but it's for children and and we love to do it," said FCBB captain Danilo Barthel after his surprise visit with colleagues Vladimir Lucic and Leon Radosevic to the young group in the primary school at Gärtnerplatz. This year the FCBB is once again supporting 25 of these sports clubs with a free offer for more than 400 kids in Munich and Erding.

"Must be more awake than in Frankfurt"

In Ludwigsburg, however, the table leader would like to do without gifts and rather strengthen their position with another victory. After the catch-up game on the 14th gameday, the Bavarians will receive another ambitious playoff candidate next Sunday against the Braunschweig Lions.

Afterwards, the men around coach Dejan Radonjic actually have two easier weeks around the Osterheim match against Crailsheim (21.4.) time and a huge game against top rival Alba Berlin (28.4.) and Bamberg (30.4., Audi Dome).

"Our remaining schedule before the playoffs is already very tough and we as a team are aware that we have to be much more awake in Ludwigsburg than in the first 35 minutes in Frankfurt", said team captain Barthel with a view to the successful show of strength on Sunday (91-87). After the double gameday there is more time in the next  weeks to improve before the Playoffs by boosting our physical form with training and getting some guys back healthy."

At first, however, full concentration goes to the MHP Giants, who have never really been easy for the Munich team in the past, despite eight victories in 11 road games. The home strong Swabians (eight of twelve victories at home) are under pressure to take part in the playoffs after a 98-92 loss in the rivalry game against Ulm . As tenth in the table, they are currently two victories behind a place for the playoffs (starting Saturday, May 18th), which the Bavarians have already secured.

The Munich team won the first matchup just two weeks ago with a score of 92-74 despite 19 turnovers. The decisive factors were a good shooting percentage of 58.2 percent and winning the rebound duel  (36-25).
