Bayern Basketball have signed their second free agent of the offseason, adding winger, Robin Amaize, to the German League Champion team. The 24-year-old signed a three-year contract in Munich through 2021 and officially joined the team after passing his physical on Thursday. Amaize played his last two seasons with BBL contender, Bayreuth and last season scored 6.7 ppg and had 2.6 rpg.

"I'm looking forward to Munich and can't wait for the season to finally start," said Amaize. "I already noticed at the medical check-up how much more professional everything is going on here. I didn't want to miss the chance to prove myself in such an environment. I know how strong the squad is, but I expect myself to always give 100 percent. Then they'll see what my role can look like."

Sports Director Daniele Baiesi said: "Robin will bring shooting and athleticism to our team. We are happy that he has decided to take the next step in his development in Munich. He is 24 and so still a very young player. He still needs to put the finishing touches to his game and become more efficient. However, we firmly believe in its potential because Robin definitely has the tools to become a factor at every level. He has a very positive attitude and a great desire to prove himself, to improve and to fight for his minutes in our team."

Robin Amaize developed in junior basketball in Giessen, in the 2012/2013 season before he debuted as a youngster in the BBL for the 46ers, which at that time spun towards relegation without a chance. Three seasons followed at the Braunschweig Lions, where the high jumping youngster played in the Bundesliga for the last half of the year; at the same time Amaize played, as before in Giessen, initially under a double license in the 2nd Bundesliga ProB. With the German A2 national team he participated in the Universiade in Taipei in 2017.
