"Book" remains on board: Devin Booker has extended his contract with the Bayern basketball team for another season. The 6ft7 US center is already entering his third season in Munich. The 27-year-old powerhouse from South Carolina joined the Bavarians in 2016 and has been very successful in both the league (12.5 ppg) and in the EuroCup (13.6 ppg). He was one of the most spectacular players in both competitions, not least because of his crashing dunks.

"I am very happy to return to Munich, where we are very comfortable with each other," said Booker, who is currently on home leave with his family in Florida. "I hope and expect that next season we will again have unforgettable moments like this year."

"A strong signal of stability and continuity"

Daniele Baiesi said on behalf of the Bavarians that he was, "very pleased that Devin will stay for another year, because this will not only give us a great player but also a great person", said the FCBB sports director: "At the same time his third year with us is a strong signal for the stability and continuity of our club". Booker has "improved greatly in his second year and developed into one of the best Big Men in Europe. We are very confident that together with Bayern he will take his game to the next level."

With the Munich club this last season he celebrated his most successful professional season. A championship and cup victory meant the first title wins for him. Booker started in 46 of 48 matches, was the most most accurate shooter of the champion team (62.7 % FG) as well as strongest rebounder (5.1 rpg). In the EuroCup, in which the Bavarians reached the semi-finals for the first time, he was elected to the All-First team, was MVP of the third Top16 matchday and ultimately ranked eighth in the index rating for the entire competition. Starting in October he will make his EuroLeague debut with the German champion.
