With as positive an attitude as possible after a tough loss in Greece the German champions want to continue their way through a long season with their heads held high. Tomorrow will be a real festive day as FC Barcelona, who are playing well and coached by good friend Svetislav Pesic, visit the Audi Dome. The game starts on Thursday (21.3) at 20:00; tickets are still available at the box office (starting at 18:30).

"We have to stay together"

"There's no reason to feel bad still about not making the playoffs. Because with our twelve victories and the fact that we were and still are in the middle of the competition in the last ten games, we have fully fulfilled our own expectations of this first EuroLeague season," said Managing Director Marko Pesic before the final three games of the regular season. "We have to stay together and keep working as our main goal was and still is the championship". In the premier class, the Bavarians will travel to Istanbul next week before a home game against Gran Canaria on April 5th finishes the regular season.

There will be a warm, but also challenging reunion, When Pesic senior visits the Audi Dome with FC Barcelona, the familiar Munich champion coach from 2014 will be the guest - but also the coach of the most successful team of the EuroLeague second half (ten victories in 14 games), which also leads the Spanish ACB ahead of Real Madrid and has already won the Spanish Cup.

The 69-year-old former FCBB coach from Catalonia has managed to make it to the top of the league after being bogged down for many years. And after two years without participating in the play-offs they are now ranked fifth in the EuroLeague and are considered a candidate for the Final Four in May. Svetislav Pesic has a deep and balanced squad, starting with French Guard Thomas Heurtel (10.7 ppg) as the only player averaging above 10 ppg. Center Ante Tomic (9.4 ppg, 4.9 rpg) is having a strong season and the big Croatian in his seventh year with the club has won the EuroLeague twice already, once in 2010 and for the first time in 2003.
