Nelson says goodbye to FC Bayern Basketball

DeMarcus Nelson leaves FC Bayern Basketball: The 34-year-old said goodbye to the German champions this weekend ashis contract expired with the end of the first half of the EuroLeague. Bayern had signed the experienced American in late summer due to the injury of TJ Bray. He was no longer part of the squad for the road game in Vechta (76-68) on Sunday. His compatriot Bray has been back in team training after his foot surgery since Saturday.

"DeMarcus was a great help on and off the court. He came to us because of the gap caused by TJ's injury. He brought his great experience and very strong personality to our team," said FCBB Sports Director Daniele Baiesi on Sunday. "We know and appreciate that his contribution was of enormous value to us and we would therefore like to thank him for the exceptional professionalism he showed every day. We wish him nothing but the best for his future path".

DeMarcus Nelson helped win 14 BBL games (5.4 ppg/1.8 apg) for the Bundesliga leader with 18 minutes played per game. His best scoring performance was 13 points in a home victory over Crailsheim. In the EuroLeague he played the entire first half of the season with 17 games and an average of just under 13 minutes of play (3.7 ppg/1.9 apg).

FC Bayern Basketball thanks DeMarcus Nelson for his commitment and wishes him all the best for his future.
