The Bavarians say goodbye to Booker, Jovic and Williams

After the long-term contract extensions with final MVP Nihad Djedovic and co-captain Vladimir Lucic and the signing of TJ Bray, FC Bayern München Basketball is taking leave of three players from their championship team: Center Devin Booker, Guard Stefan Jovic and Power Forward Derrick Williams are taking on new challenges and their contracts have all expired. Booker leaves the German champion after three years,  and Jovic after two for the as both have found a new team in EuroLeague competitor Khimki Moscow.

"We'd like to thank all three of them, they helped shape our team, each in their own way. We'll be happy when they return to the Audi Dome at some point as guests. We wish them all the best in their next tasks and will continue to press ahead with our personnel planning," said Sport Director Daniele Baiesi.

Devin Booker, who moved from France to Munich in 2016 and, like Jovic, celebrated the double championship season in 2018 and the title defense in 2019, said: "I want to thank the Bayern family for three incredible years in which we made history together, these are memories I will keep all my life. Everyone there is like a family for me and Munich is now another home that will remain special".

Booker, 28, scored 10.2 points and 4.3 rebounds per game this season; in total he played 113 BBL games for FC Bayern Basketball and scored 1,256 points. In the second playoff final of 2019 in Berlin (82-77) he excelled with 16 points. In the EuroLeague he collected an average of 8.9 points and 3.4 rebounds.

US compatriot Derrick Williams, 28, joined the Bavarians last September and celebrated his first EuroLeague title with them after the convincing campaign. The former NBA player was even the top Munich scorer in the premier league with an average of 13.4 points and in the BBL the athletic big man scored 11.4 points.

The Serbian national player Stefan Jovic, 28, joined the Bavarians in 2017 from Red Star Belgrade. In the EuroLeague this season he managed 4.6 assists and 8.3 points. In the Bundesliga, Jovic wore the Bayern jersey 70 times in two years (7.4 ppg).
