FC Bayern basketball players are loaning forward Marvin Ogunsipe to BBL newcomer Hamburg Towers for the coming season. The Austrian national player, who now also has a German passport, has been a member of the Munich professional squad for the past two years, with a total of 35 appearances. His contract with the German Champion is valid until summer 2021.
Ogunsipe said: "I would like to thank FC Bayern Basketball for giving me the chance to develop further. We agree that it is important for me to gain more playing time and experience. Hamburg is the perfect place for this as an ambitious climber. My goal is to return to the club as a seasoned player. Of course, I will continue to follow all the games of the Bavarians as best I can and not let the contact break off. I'll be back!
Marvin Ogunsipe has been continually promoted in the Bavarian youth program since 2014 and celebrated the German U19 Championship 2015 and the promotion to the second league ProB in 2016. In the past season, the 6ft7 Viennese player earned a place in the extended rotation. The Power Forward had his share in EuroLeague (ten games 6:14 min per game) and BBL (27/6:57 mpg, 1.7 ppg) while Devin Booker was injured for three-months.
