From the EuroLeague stage back to the Bundesliga floor: The Bayern basketball players will compete against the Central German club in Leipzig on Sunday afternoon (24.11.). It is once again the game of the year for the Weissenfelser suqad and thus they are once again moving to the Leipzig Arena, 40 kilometres away from their regular home court. It will be the third game of the week for the German champions. The goal is clear: The still undefeated FCBB (7-0) want to defend their lead at the op of the standings and defeat a team with a 1-7 record.

The hosts invested a lot in the team this summer, especially on offense (fourth best offense with 91 points per game). The defense has been another story and has been largely responsible for the one victory in eight games. The poor start already led to a coaching change as Björn Harmsen (last with Jena) is back leading the team from Weissenfels. Top scorer for the Syntainics MBC so far is Serbian Power Forward, Strahinja Micovic (15.3 ppg) ahead of the Canadian playmaker Kaza Kajami-Keane (14.4/5.5 apg). Andrew Warren (13.0) has been big since his return from spending time playing in Italy.

In terms of personnel, the situation for Bayern remains tense. In addition to TJ Bray (advanced training) and Josh Huestis (in training), Nihad Djedovic (knee) will "probably be out the next few games," said coach Dejan Radonjic.
