Sunday against BBL runner-up Crailsheim

The Bayern basketball team is back from Moscow. On Saturday morning, they landed back at Munich Airport after six days in Russia and two memorable road victories. They left their hotel at five o'clock in the morning German time after the 69-66 triumph at EuroLeague defending champion ZSKA Moscow and reached the Audi Dome in the early afternoon. The next task awaits them in Munich on Sunday, namely the home game against Crailsheim, the current runners-up in the table, who have been in impressive form so far.

The game tips off at 18:00 on Sunday, and MagentaSport will be live from 17:45 onwards.

TO THE AUDI DOME QUIZ

The guests have played 14 games, two more than Bayern and have lost only two of those games, just like the Munich team. After a strong season before the regular season was cancelled in March 2020, the Hakro Merlins again succeeded in advancing to the top of the BBL. They have only lost to league leader Ludwigsburg and in Hamburg, the second surprise team. In the cup qualifier, the Munich team was able to defeat the Merlins 80-63 in the end of October.

Coach Tuomas Iisalo, former Finnish national player, has again formed an offensively strong team. Top scorer with 19.7 points on average - second place in the BBL - is Canadian point guard Trae Bell-Haynes. The 25-year-old transferred from Finland and has found good form this season. The re-signing of former FCBB youngster Bogdan Radosavljevic (12 ppg) also definitely proved new ambitions of the club from northeastern Baden-Württemberg, which was promoted in 2018.

Paul Zipser also banged up
The FCBB will once again have their hands full and hope that perhaps someone can be removed from the full injured list. Vladmir Lucic, Nihad Djedovic or Zan Mark Sisko could rejoin the team in the short term, while Robin Amaize (calf) and junior center Matej Rudan (ankle) are not yet available. There is now also a question mark behind Paul Zipser, who went to the bench (thigh) just before halftime at ZSKA and could not be used after the break.

TO THE LIVETICKER

Head coach Andrea Trinchieri, who recently had to make do with a ten-man squad in the BBL, is meanwhile likely to have his sights set on the coming week: Starting on Wednesday, four games within seven days are on the calendar, three of them on the road. On Wednesday (Feb. 3), tip-off is at 20:30 for the BBL duel in Wuerzburg, on Friday (Feb. 5, 20:30) Alba Berlin comes to the Audi Dome for the EuroLeague mathcup before Bayern travels to Bamberg (Feb. 7, 18:00) and Ulm (Feb. 9, 19:00).

#NOW
The game in the Audi Dome will be marked by "#NIEWIEDER": On the occasion of "Remembrance Day in German Football", the FCBB is joining the campaign of the entire club for more tolerance in society and against discrimination this weekend. In line with the International Day of Remembrance of the Victims of the Holocaust (Jan. 27), all Bundesliga teams are making a statement: Due to this year's thematic focus on tolerance of same-sex love, a rainbow badge will be added to the jerseys, and a corresponding lettering will be displayed on the LED perimeter.
