Initially, very intensive individual practices in the Audi Dome were the only thing on the schedule but in the meantime the FC Bayern basketball players have also started team training: After medical checks and corona tests, the group around the new head coach Andrea Trinchieri is complete. Malcolm Thomas from the USA arrived on Tuesday morning and thus the FCBB's preparations for the start of the EuroLeague season, which is scheduled for the beginning of October, are now in full swing before the BBL operations start in mid-October with the qualification tournaments for the Cup Top4.
An important part of the season preparation will again be a training camp as a guest of "Bruneck Kronplatz Tourismus", the exclusive FCBB holiday region in the Alpine area. From 1 to 5 September the team will prepare for the season at the northern Italian community of the Puster Valley.
As things stand at present, Bayern will play eight test games. The first one will already take place next week against the Slovenian EuroCup team, KK Cedevita Olimpija Ljubljana (27 August), and then again on 9 September. Opponents of other non-public exhibition games are the BBL clubs Ulm (two games), Bamberg and Goettingen. The EuroLeague tournament in Valencia with Olympiakos Piraeus, Asvel Villeurbanne and the hosts is scheduled for 15-16 September (two games per team), always subject to the further development of the corona pandemic.
