With a 95-66 (46-38) victory over BG Göttingen, the FC Bayern basketball team completed the test phase of their season preparation. Six days before the first meaningful game in the EuroLeague against Armani Milan (2.10., 20:3/Audi Dome), the success against the Lower Saxony team was never in danger. Bayern once again rested Thomas (again in training) and this time also Lucic but otherwise coach Andrea Trinchieri distributed the minutes well among all players.
Weiler-Babb opened the game with two clean threes, before FCBB loaner Weidemann (16 points) brought the BG to the lead with nine quick points 15-13. The Bayern offense started to get in a rythm and Baldwin, Radosevic, Djedovic and Zipser led the team to a 29-19 lead (10.). Before the quarter ended, Baldwin added another And-One - 32-19.
Trinchieri called a quick timeout (34-24/13) since the defense was not aggressive enough for him and the attack was a bit sloppy. Bayern struggled a bit in the first half bu led 46-38.
After the break the FCBB increased the intensity, and Johnson's dunk on Sisko's assist to take a 55-41 was a thing of beauty. The Slovenian playmaker again pulled the strings and youngster Grant scored from outside.
They went into the last quarter with a 68-50 lead and continued to and on to it. In the second half the hosts only allowed 28 points.
