The Bayern Basketball team will kick off the 56th Bundesliga season with a southern rivalry game against Ratiopharm Ulm in Munich's Audi Dome on Sunday, September 26. The rematch of the Cup semifinal against the Swabians will start at 18:00. On the way to winning the Cup in 2021, the FCBB narrowly defeated Ulm in May in overtime (104-102).

This is a tough way to start the season for Bayern, as the EuroLeague begins for head coach Andrea Trinchieri's team as early as the following Thursday (Sept. 30) with a tough road game at Maccabi Tel Aviv in Israel. On the following weekend (2-3/10), the defending champions will play in the Cup Round of 16, with the pairings to be drawn this Wednesday. On Thursday, October 7 (20:30), FC Barcelona will host FCBB in the Euroleague, and the BBL continues on Sunday (Oct. 10) with a home game against Braunschweig.

In the first month until the end of October, the Munich team will probably have to play at least 13 game in the BBL, the first three at home, but in the EuroLeague, four of the first five games will be away from home. (The southern derby in Würzburg, originally scheduled for Sept. 30/EuroLeague start, is still being rescheduled, possibly also in October).
In the schedule published by the easyCredit BBL for the 2021/2022 season, the first clash with champions Alba Berlin (away) will take place on December 12. The 2022 Top Four for the German Cup has been scheduled for the weekend of February 19/20. The 2022 playoffs are scheduled to start on May 6.
