A graduate of the in-house youth program is returning to his training club: power forward Marvin Ogunsipe will once again be part of the FC Bayern Basketball squad in the coming season. The 25-year-old Austrian international had most recently been on loan to the Hamburg Towers. Ogunsipe's contract with the German Cup winner is still valid until 2022.

A native of Vienna with a German passport, he moved from cooperation partner Vienna Timberwolves to Munich's junior program in 2014, where he celebrated the German U19 championship in 2015 and played a key role in the second team's promotion to the ProB second division in 2016. From Bayern's talent pool, he also made the national team of his native Austria. In February 2017, Ogunsipe made his Bundesliga debut at the Audi Dome, and in 2018 and 2019 he was part of FC Bayern Basketball's championship squad and also appeared in the EuroLeague.
"Marvin comes back to us after his important experience at a high level in Hamburg, and no doubt with a huge motivation to prove himself and help our rotation in the big positions," sporting director Baiesi said of Ogunsipe. "He's one of our guys and it's great to have him come home."
In the FCBB program since 2014
After a first season in Hamburg and playing in the 2020 Final10 at the Audi Dome for the Crailsheim Merlins in June a year ago, the 6-foot-7 power forward most recently spent a second season with this year's playoff contender Hamburg Towers. A combative and versatile role player, he received just under ten minutes per game there and averaged 2.4 points and 1.8 rebounds.
