Center Leon Radosevic extends and wants "even more success".

Leon Radosevic remains a pillar of the FCBB frontcourt: The 31-year-old German-Croatian has signed a new contract with FC Bayern Basketball until 2022 with an option for another year. The experienced center is thus entering his fourth season with the Munich team.

"I just feel comfortable at Bayern, with the coach I had and have a very good relationship, so I was able to fill a bigger role again last season," said Radosevic. "I hope that we will stay on this track as a team and have even more success together than we already had this year."

Leon Radosevic won the double with Bayern in 2018, the championship in 2019 and the German Cup this year. Under head coach Andrea Trinchieri, the defensively strong zone player was one of the important rotational forces of the EuroLeague quarter finals last season and, with an average of 7.2 points in 42 BBL games also made a contribution on offense. He was in the starting five in 37 of 42 league games.

Most games of the season in the FCBB squad and then foot surgery

Radosevic's value became even more apparent after his injury and the resulting disappearance for the first two final games of the series against Berlin (1-3) due to a serious ligament and capsule injury in his left ankle. As a result of the injury, Radosevic recently had to undergo foot surgery, but will start his rehabilitation program soon. "Everything went well, the foot is fine," reported the big man.

Despite the painful injury, Radosevic made himself available once again in the BBL finals - and impressed in the last two contested duels with 11.5 points and a three-point quota of 53 percent. The big man has added the option from distance to his repertoire over the course of the season, and in the entire playoffs his three-point shooting rate was almost 53 percent.

"He is a true Bayern player".

In the EuroLeague, Leon Radosevic averaged 3.4 points in 37 appearances. Despite his foot injury at the end of the season, he played a total of 82 of Munich's 90 competitive games, the most in the Bayern squad (with Jalen Reynolds, also 82). With currently 231 games (5.8 ppg) in the premier league, he could reach the bench mark of 250 EuroLeague games next season.

FCBB sports director Daniele Baiesi is delighted with the contract extension: "We have been together with Leon for years now, and under Coach Trinchieri he has now played his best basketball. We believe that he can improve even more, now also as a 'combo big man' who extends the court. Last but not least, in the final series, Leon once again proved his commitment to our colors when he gave us great minutes later that no one else would have been capable of in his physical state at the time. He is a true Bayern player and we are happy to keep it that way."
