After a short night, the Bayern basketball team left for Greece. In the second part of the two game week in the Euroleague, the German Cup winners will visit the first-place team on Thursday evening (20:00/MagentaSport): Olympiakos is considered the top contender for the 2023 title, and not just since Tuesday's 77-70 home win against FC Barcelona in front of 11,500 spectators.

"Olympiakos is currently the best team in Europe and a favorite for the title, they have a well-practiced team with plenty of quality and experience," said Bayern head coach Andrea Trinchieri before the game at the Peace and Friendship Stadium. "We don't have much time to prepare or even rest, so we have to be all the more focused in tackling this big challenge."

Top scorer, top player in assists and also top in steals

The long-time club from the port city is striving for another Final Four appearance and has further strengthened its team in recent times.  The outstanding player continues to be forward Sasha Vezenkov, who at 27 is on course to be MVP and is dominating his fifth season in Piraeus with 17.9 points and 7.3 rebounds per game - both figures are currently the best in the league.

The Greek veteran Kostas Sloukas continues as floor general and is the EuroLeague's best assist master with 6.4 per game while fellow guard Thomas Walkup has the most steals (1.7 per game).

The Munich team can head into the last quarter of the regular season without pressure after the 76-72 win over Lyon-Villeurbanne with now eleven wins on the season. After Piraeus  Alba Berlin comes to visit (March 17, 20:30/Audi Dome), Milan, Panathinaikos Athens, Monaco (March 31, 19:00), Real Madrid and, in the last home game, Zalgiris Kaunas (April 14, 20:30 ).
