After the conclusion of the EuroLeague season, the goal is clear: The Bayern basketball team is aiming for the German championship, knowing full well that as the third-place team in the regular season behind Berlin and Bonn, they are not the clear favourites. There are still seven games to go before the playoffs start in mid-May - enough opportunity to get in the mood for the decisive time of the year.
NBBL-matchup starts at 13:45
This important final phase of the season begins on Sunday with the Bavarian classic against an old rival, Bamberg, who are also attempting to reach the playoffs. The game starts at 18:00 and more than 5,200 tickets have already been sold. At 13: 45 the two U19 junior teams of both clubs will duel in the Audi Dome in the first playoff quarterfinal (free admission).
After the successful recovery during the week against Ludwigsburg (109-100), the Upper Franconians, with a 14-15 record as ninth place team, still have their sights set on the playoffs.
Bamberg is fighting to reach the Playoffs
FCBB-headcoach Andrea Trinchieri has already announced that he will "expand the rotation" for his squad with the playoffs in view and on Friday against Kaunas, he used all twelve players. It is quite possible that D.J. Seeley will be back with the squad against Bamberg after recovering from back problems, Elias Harris (foot) should also be available again soon. Only Othello Hunter (back) and Augustine Rubit (season out) would be unavailable due to injury.

For Bamberg, a lot is riding on playmaker Patrick Miller (17.4 ppg, 5.6 ppg), one of several re-signings with which the former champion is still trying to turn the season around and reach the playoffs. In general, the guests' strengths lie in their offense (87.7 ppg).
Eighth straight win?
It is already Bayern's third duel with Bamberg this season after two road wins in the cup (85-68) and in the BBL first matchup(94-87), when the hosts only lost in the final minutes. FCBB has won the last twelve meetings with Bamberg. On the 28th gameday they want to celebrate their 22nd win in the Bundesliga, which would be their eighth in a row.
