Obst will play for Bayern

A little stretching, a visit to the weight room, shooting practice and a few one-on-one talks between the coach and his squad - the day after was also the day before for the Bayern basketball team, which has been in playoff mode since Tuesday night. After the convincing 87-67 win in Game 1 against BG Goettingen, the second step will kick off on Thursday evening (18:00./Audi Dome).

Regeneration and tactical fine-tuning were on head coach Andrea Trinchieri's agenda on Wednesday, although there was one piece of good news: captain Andreas Obst, who received a painful blow to the knee in the final quarter of Game 1, reeled off his series of threes on the practice court at the Audi Dome. "It's nothing major," Trinchieri had already announced with relief the night before.

23 assists in Game 1

Bayern expects even more resistance in Game 2 from the Lower Saxons, who were clearly outgunned in the rebounding duel on Tuesday (38-26). The hosts delivered an energetic performance over 40 minutes and managed to accumulate 23 assists as a team.

On Thursday, the Audi Dome will again be packed as will the Goettingen Arena on Sunday for Game 3. Should BG manage to win one of the next two games, a fourth game would take place there again, next Tuesday (19:00). The FCBB will do their best to keep this scenario from happening.
