Lead figure Hunter stays in Bayern

The FC Bayern basketball team can announce its first personnel decisions: As hoped, veteran Othello Hunter, 36, has extended his contract for another season in the Munich kit. The experienced U.S. center is thus entering a second season with the five-time German champions - he moved to Munich from Tel Aviv last summer and was one of the mainstays in coach Andrea Trinchieri's team on the long road to the EuroLeague playoffs and the BBL finals in 2022.

"I am grateful to continue to be a part of this family"

"Unconditional Commitment"

Othello Hunter was one of Bayern's leading figures last season. In the EuroLeague, putting up an average of 7.7 points over 35 appearances (BBL: 8.0 ppg) and averaging five rebounds. In addition, the big man discovered that he could shoot the three ball at a very decent rate of 37.5 percent. In the playoffs against FC Barcelona (2:3), Hunter played his 250th game in the European top division in game four.

"I am grateful to continue to be a part of this family," Hunter conveyed from home leave. "Because for me, from the beginning, everything, from the bottom up to the club management, has felt like one big family. I don't want to be anywhere else next season and I can't wait for the journey to start again. Because the mission in Munich is not over yet."

GM Daniel Baisi says of the veteran, "Othello has been a presence on and off the court for us last year, leading the way in the difficult moments, givng inside presence on both ends, and in the locker room by mentoring the younger guys. He has shown unconditioned commitment and extreme loyalty to our Club and we are extremely happy that he has decided to continue in Munich."
