„MagentaSport Cup 2023“ with Berlin, Bologna & Crvena Zvezda

FC Bayern Basketball will present themselves to their home fans for the first time at a high-profile preseason tournament at the BMW Park: The second edition of the "MagentaSport Cup" on the weekend of September 16th/17th is exclusively composed of EuroLeague teams. Alongside the hosts under the new head coach Pablo Laso, these teams include Alba Berlin, Virtus Bologna from Italy, and the recently spectacularly strengthened Serbian champion, Red Star Belgrade.

Possible dress rehearsal for EuroLeague debut against Alba

As the organizer, Telekom delivers the perfect introduction to the start of the BBL (FCBB on September 29 against MBC) and the beginning of the 2023/2024 EuroLeague season shortly after the World Cup (August 25 - September 10, all 92 games live and for free on MagentaSport). The Bayern team will have their home premiere against Alba Berlin on October 5, 8:30 PM – at the "MagentaSport Cup 2023," a direct matchup with the German rival is possible as an exciting dress rehearsal on the second day of the cup.

FCBB will play the second semifinal against the 16-time Italian champion, Virtus, led by Spain's successful coach Sergio Scariolo and top-forward Tornike Shengalia on Saturday at 8:00 PM. The opening match will see Berlin facing Red Star at 5:00 PM.

Belgrade, having significantly strengthened their team, showcases notable additions, including playmaker Milos Teodosic (from Bologna), Adam Hanga (Real Madrid), Mike Tobey (FC Barcelona), Rokas Giedraitis (Baskonia), Joel Bolomboy (Olympiakos), Shabazz Napier (Mailand), and most recently Ulm's championship MVP, Yago dos Santos. This has solidified their ambitions for the Final Four.

The third-place game will take place on Sunday at 3:00 PM, and the winners of the semifinals will compete in the final starting at 6:00 PM. MagentaSport, which will again broadcast all matches of the top league next season (including Thursday matches in the conference), will provide live and free coverage from the BMW Park on September 16th and 17th.

FCBB CEO Marko Pesic speaks highly of the well-stocked tournament, stating that it is the perfect preparation for the new season, and with the support of Telekom, they will celebrate the first basketball festival at the BMW Park.

Tickets for the second edition of the "MagentaSport Cup" after 2021 are available in FCBB's ticket shop. Children under 14 years have free admission (0 EUR for children up to and including 13 years), but a valid ticket is required. Season ticket holders receive an exclusive 25% discount on public tickets, with the promotional code sent in a separate information email.

Ticket prices are as follows: Adults, single-day ticket 19 euros; weekend ticket 29 euros. Groups (from 8 people, only by email: basketball-gruppen@fcbayern.com) can get single-day tickets for 10 euros. BMW Park VIP Lounge offers single-day tickets for 185 euros and weekend tickets for 349 euros (plus VAT).
