
The new season begins with an award for the reigning champion and cup winner: On Wednesday, the EuroLeague awarded FC Bayern Basketball the Devotion Marketing Award in Gold at a ceremony in Barcelona. Bayern received the award for the world's first official basketball game on a high-tech LED glass floor, which kicked off the season at the end of September in the newly renovated BMW Park.

With the premiere on the revolutionary ASB GlassFloor, FCBB mobility partner BMW Munich spectacularly kicked off the start of its long-term commitment to the now six-time German champion. For FC Bayern Basketball, this is already the fourth Gold Marketing Award since 2016. Silver went to Efes Istanbul this time, and Bronze to Zalgiris Kaunas.

In its statement, the EuroLeague also mentioned that BMW had launched the social initiative "Dunks for Tomorrow" in addition to the emotionally impactful glass floor project: Last season, BMW donated 1,000 euros for each FCBB dunk at home games in the BMW Park in support of SOS-Kinderdorf e.V. As a result, Bernd Döpke, Head of BMW Munich, was able to recently hand over a donation sum of 141,000 euros to the association dedicated to helping children from disadvantaged families.
