The veteran is far from finished: Elias Harris remains with FC Bayern Basketball. The 35-year-old big man and the German champion finalized a two-year extension until 2026. The experienced power forward has been playing for the Munich team since 2022 and has won the cup twice and recently the double with them.
"I am very happy to have extended my contract with FC Bayern Basketball. The family atmosphere in the club impressed me from the beginning, and our successes make me want even more,' says Harris. 'I really feel comfortable here and can continue to develop both athletically and personally. I am proud to remain part of this special community and look forward to the next challenges and successes. Always forward!"
"Role model as a professional and team player"
"Elias is a very important part of our team both on and off the court, and there was no question for us that we did not want to do without his experience and qualities. He still has a lot more to offer and fortunately remains part of the core framework of the team, which will stay with us. We are very happy about that because he is an absolute role model as a professional and team player," adds FCBB CEO Marko Pesic.
Elias Harris, with now 258 BBL games, is one of the faces of the league. The former German national player returned two years ago after stints abroad in Spain and Japan. Last season, he consistently brought the needed intensity and cleverness off the bench. His stats (6.6 points per game, 2.7 rebounds per game) included a two-point shooting percentage of 64.3 percent, the best among all rotation players. In the EuroLeague, Harris averaged 4.7 points per game.
