Booker leaves Bayern after his fourth title

He is leaving as a friend and champion for a second time: After his fifth season with Bayern Basketball, Devin Booker is leaving Munich again these days, with the 34-year-old US center joining another EuroLeague team for the new season. Booker played a major role in winning the German championship in 2025 and delivered his best season to date in the EuroLeague under Head Coach Gordon Herbert, scoring almost 15 points per game for the play-in team and adding 4.7 rebounds.

Four-time German champion

The athletic big man returned to Munich two years ago after his first stint with FCBB from 2016 to 2019, winning a total of four German championships, defending the title in each case (2019 and 2025), as well as the cup twice (2018, 2024).

Booker said: "My return to Bayern was a pleasure, in addition to the titles, I take with me great memories of my team and the Bayern fans. See you next time . . ."

The American proved his worth once again at the end of the BBL final series. Handicapped by a latently swollen right ankle, which he had twisted several times in the playoffs, his participation in the fourth final in Ulm was in doubt at 1:2: He was unable to play in the morning, missed the shootaround due to the pain and was treated all day by physio Alejandro Perez - in the evening he then scored 11 points and grabbed five rebounds in the 67:53 triumph and added another 19 points in Game 5 as the champions' top scorer.

“Committed to the end”

In addition to this episode, his spectacular dunks and threes, especially in the EuroLeague main round, will be remembered until his knee injury in February, which kept him out for three months. Booker leaves Bayern with a BBL scoring average of 11.7 points and five rebounds per game this season.

“We thank Book for his great commitment in a Bayern jersey, he was 100 percent committed until the end despite our epic season and played a fantastic round,” said FCBB Managing Director Dragan Tarlac.

FC Bayern Basketball wishes Devin and his family all the best for the future and looks forward to seeing him again in the next EuroLeague season.
