Top-level European basketball will be played at the SAP Garden this summer as well: The 35th edition of the Turkish Airlines Supercup will take place for the first time ever in Munich on August 15th and 16th, and it features a high-quality lineup. In addition to the German world champion team as host, the field is completed by Olympic bronze medalist Serbia, Türkiye, and Czechia. Prominent lineups are expected – because only eleven days after the tournament in Munich, EuroBasket 2025 begins. Like the German team, all three guest teams will also participate in the tournament, played in Finland, Latvia, Cyprus and Poland.

Will Serbia bring superstar Jokic?
Germany is expected to field its NBA stars Dennis Schröder (Sacramento Kings) and Franz Wagner (Orlando Magic). The new national team coach, Alex Mumbru, who may also consider FCBB national players like Andreas Obst, Johannes Voigtmann, Justus Hollatz, and Oscar da Silva for his squad, says:
“The Supercup is one of the best tournaments in basketball and a great opportunity to prepare for EuroBasket. Serbia, Czechia, Turkey, and of course our team are among the top squads in Europe. The games will be held in the incredible new arena, the SAP Garden in Munich, in front of many basketball fans and surely in an amazing atmosphere. It will be very important to see where we stand at that moment and what we still need to work on. These will be great days for basketball.”
World silver medalist Serbia, still coached by Svetislav Pesic, is once again hoping for the participation of superstar Nikola Jokic of the Denver Nuggets. EuroBasket participant Czechia is expected to be led by Tomas Satoransky and Jan Vesely, both from FC Barcelona. Türkiye, coached by Ergin Ataman (Panathinaikos), could showcase NBA pro Alperen Sengun (Houston Rockets) as well as EuroLeague stars such as Cedi Osman (Panathinaikos) and Shane Larkin (Efes Istanbul).
