





The Bayern Basketball team, plagued by Corona cases and injuries, defended its lead in the standings despite all odds: In front of 1,127 spectators at the Audi Dome, Andrea Trinchieri's team managed a safe 72-53 win over Frankfurt. With a 32-8 points record, the FCBB remains at the top of the standings, with the next game on Tuesday (18:30./MagentaSport and Sport1) away in Chemnitz.
Bayern started obviously motivated after the BBL rejection of their transfer request. Besides the quarantine cases as well as Hillard and Zipser, Jaramaz (foot) and George (hand) who were also missing due to injury; other stricken players made themselves available for minutes of relief, with captain Djedovic having to pass again after the warm-up.
The start was nevertheless successful against a likewise weakened guest. They took a 14-0 lead (6th) and 32-11 (16th). Towards the end, the small rotation ran out of steam, but it was no longer close. Top scorers were Hunter (14), and Thomas (11).
